Mass shooting erupts near beach in Hollywood

 According to USA Today, a shooting incident occurred near a beach in Hollywood, Florida, resulting in nine individuals sustaining injuries. Videos shared online depict a chaotic scene as numerous beachgoers frantically fled the area. Memorial Healthcare System spokesperson Yanet Obarrio Sanchez stated that among the injured were six adults and three children, all of whom were reported to be in stable condition. The victims were promptly transported to Memorial Regional Hospital and Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital.


The police have determined that the gunfire erupted as a result of a confrontation between two groups. While one individual has been detained, law enforcement officers are actively searching for additional suspects.


During a press briefing on Monday evening, police spokesperson Deanna Bettineschi confirmed that officers responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 6:42 pm. Ms. Bettineschi further revealed that the age range of the affected children was between 1 and 17, while the adults ranged from 25 to 65 years old. Additionally, one of the victims underwent surgery as part of their medical treatment.
